With Fall’s arrival, most of us consider whether to receive the Flu vaccine to lessen the chances of having the flu over the upcoming winter months.
This season, flu vaccines are already available and should be considered by most individuals.
Routine annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all individuals aged 6 months and older who do not have contraindications.
Individuals should be vaccinated before the onset of flu activity in the community, and vaccinations should be offered before the end of October and continue to be offered as long as influenza viruses are circulating and unexpired vaccine is available.
Officials with the CDC have published recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for the prevention and control of seasonal influenza with vaccines for the 2017-2018 season. These recommendations can be found by clicking here.
