Southern Pharmaceutical Services was honored to bring Teepa Snow to Birmingham on April 20, 2016 for a day of continuing education and learning for assisted living administrators, nurses and caregivers. The conference was held at the beautiful WMU building in Inverness and was attended by more than 120 industry professionals.
For those of you who are not familiar with Teepa, she is an occupational therapist working as a dementia care and dementia education specialist. Teepa is an advocate for those living with dementia and has made it her personal mission to help families and professionals better understand how it feels to be living with the challenges and changes that accompany various forms of the condition so that life can be lived fully and well.
Teepa touched on many important topics throughout the conference, such as:
- Managing Behavior: Start with Yourself
- Pain – How to Recognize & Intervene When Pain is a Possibility
- Enhancing Mobility and Reducing Fall Risks
Many of the attendees were current clients of SPS and we were very pleased to offer this day of extended learning to everyone who works with dementia patients.
