Guardian Pharmacy of Birmingham is working very hard to ensure the health and safety of those we serve, especially the senior population in Assisted Living Facilities, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff at Guardian is adjusting to many new policies and procedures that have recently been implemented. One major change includes dividing our pharmacy staff into teams that work in shifts and allotting gaps of time during regular work hours for additional cleaning/sanitizing the pharmacy, equipment and supplies. This is a preventative measure designed to ensure staff is on hand and able to continue pharmacy operations, should one of our members become sick, so that our customers can continue receiving medications without interruption.
Our team of clinical account managers is working remotely and communicating with our clients via telephone, text and email. They have developed and distributed a video to all of our customers to help educate staff on assisted living rules and regulations for Med Pass while we are temporarily unable to present these services in person. We have also put together small “treats” for the assisted living staff opening our nightly deliveries in an effort to show how much we appreciate the hard work and diligence required of healthcare workers now more than ever.
